Oyo State Government Inaugurates Committee on Haulage Matters

Oyo State Government has inaugurated a 10-member committee on haulage matters. The committee is expected to submit a monthly report on the duty delegated to them at the ministry of Trade Industry Investment and Cooperatives, Secretariat, Ibadan and the committee’s primary objective is to ensure seamless and peaceful haulage operations in the state.

Honourable Adeniyi Adebisi, Commissioner for Trade Industry Investment and Cooperatives made this known today during the inauguration of the Committee on haulage matters at the ministry’s conference room while he emphasized the importance of efficient haulage services in facilitating the transportation of finished products from manufacturers to consumers.

He said that the   committee’s efforts will greatly contribute to the overall economic growth and development of Oyo State. The commissioner also urged the committee members to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing the haulage industry in the state.

He said that the committee comprises principals from the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, the Board of Internal Revenue, the consultant engaged by the state, and Park Management System principals. This diverse representation is expected to bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the committee’s deliberations.

He added that the haulage industry plays a vital role in Oyo State’s economy, particularly in the transportation of finished products from manufacturers to consumers. The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives has been working to improve the haulage sector, recognizing its importance in facilitating economic growth and development.

The Honourable and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry Mr Olajide Okesade also spoke at the inauguration, charging the committee to be proactive and innovative in their approach to addressing haulage challenges. He encouraged the committee to think outside the box and explore new solutions that would enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of haulage operations in the state.

The permanent secretary, Mr. Olajide Okesade said that Honourable Adeniyi Adebisi inauguration of the committee on haulage matters is a significant step towards achieving the Oyo State Government’s objective of creating a seamless and efficient haulage system. With these committee’s expertise and the government’s support, the haulage industry in Oyo State is poised for significant growth and development.
